She is One Year Old, Already! #Justice

I cannot believe how much time has gone by already. Justice is already going to be 1 year old tomorrow.  She has had a ton of gifts, some she's still waiting to receive. I prepaid the vet for some services regarding heartworm medicine and testing. We got her AKC registration completed, she is going to be microchipped that is also paid for and I have it. We just gotta go to the vet to have it inserted.

She is going on Wednesday to a place called Hamilton K9 Training Center in Bonifay, Florida. I'm sure going to miss this Beasty Girl.  It's funny, cause initially, I wasn't so open, I mean she won my heart fast, but I still felt the pain of losing our last dog and wasn't sure I was ready yet when we got her. That all changed fairly fast.

We also got her a new tactical vest that's a cool tan color with some patches. One says Mama's says I'm Special, Ask to pet, some patches my husband had he put on her vest, but one that has her name on it hasn't arrived yet. It was custom so that took a little longer.  She got a new collar, leash, and Seresto for 16 months! 

It would be an understatement to say she was spoiled.  She loves her bones and toys too. We keep a good bit of them around so she keeps herself out of trouble.

One of the other things Justice got for her birthday is a couple of XL Kong toys. She got the Kong Goodie Bone and oh my goodness it was so funny she carried and dropped that thing all over the place, but she loves it.  I put one heartland farms, slim jim style treat in the end and she's busy for at least 30 minutes working on getting that treat out of there.

The best part about her AKC registration is we got the biggest package from the AKC.org for her Pedigree/AKC Registration. We also added both myself and the hubs on the account which cost an additional $10. But, we paid approximately $98. It came with 1 month of health insurance for our girl which we're probably going to keep from AKCPetInsurance.org.  She also got some tags with free shipping that haven't arrived yet.

The microchip we got for her comes from AKCReunite.org and it wasn't expensive at all! I was really mind blown at how inexpensive it is. I mean, imagine getting your dog completely microchipped for less than $50? It will cost me $37.95 for the microchip itself and the vet charges a whole $8 to inject it.

When I ordered her microchip I also ordered a tag that is a cute little Pink tag with a white silhouette of a unicorn.

We can't wait for her to go to the training facility and we cannot wait for her to get home! :)

Welcome to Justice The German Shepherd.

Justice is the middle puppy with the only black face.

We have always rescued mutts which have been great pets in the past. One was a pit mix we had for 13 years and she passed, then we had a mix named Bunny Bear we got him in 2012 and by Jan 2017 Lymphoma had a hold of him and there was no fixing it. Broke my heart really bad.  So much, that I I waited for over two years before getting another dog.

Hub's friend, a gun store owner in Dothan, Alabama of Area 51 Products LLC has a Kennel and had puppies for sale.  I didn't really want a puppy at the moment, I did look at them and thought, awe! But, I told my hub's "NO", not right now.  Then, I thought on it and in a way, I didn't really think I was ready, but the hub's acted like not having a new puppy was going to kill him. LOL Men... Funny part here we are 6 months later and she's not even his, she's Mama's Good Girl! She loves me and then our son, and then her daddy. LOLOL

Justice is a Purebred German Shepherd, she isn't going to be spayed until she is at least 18 months old. There are many mixed opinions on this, some say do it at 6 months before her first heat. Others say wait until she is no longer a puppy. I'm opting into waiting.  We may consider allowing her to have on litter of puppies so we can have on more and we'll sell the rest to our local first responders and people who are looking to train a service dog.

We don't want more than one litter if we even have that one.  It's just a thought being tossed around at the moment, but it may happen and it may not happen.
